Jirón’ is a documentary about the misadventures of ‘Jirón de Niebla’, the last movie of one of the most outstanding horror film directors in Mexico, Carlos Enrique Taboada, which became lost at the final stage of production, never to be seen by any audience. From film experts to production members, each one told their side of the story answering the following questions: What happened to the film? Where could it be? Who might be responsible for its disappearance? There is a mystery about the whereabouts of this movie, which the documentary tries to solve. ‘Jirón’ premiered at the Mórbido International Film Festival in México, where I won the award for best director of a Latin American film. It was also at the Sitges International Film Festival in 2015, where, besides presenting the movie, I participated in a panel about Carlos Enrique Taboada’s films. ‘Jirón’ will have a limited theatrical release in the third quarter of 2022.
